This year, they are reckoning on equivalent growth both in France and worldwide and on specific markets, including water, despite the rise in raw materials costs. Many have invested in their French plants. Under the aegis of their trade association AFPR and in the wake of the mechanical industries federation, these companies are lobbying for early changes to tax laws and methods of covering payroll costs by industry. Lastly, there is still the issue addressed last year – fakes - which remains a major concern, costing the industry an estimated 10pc of turnover.
