Prior the reverse osmosis treatment is a pre-treatment: sand, activated carbon filters with fully automatic backwashing, and chemicals. The first aim of this plant is to ensure that 200,000 tonnes of iron ore for China’s steel industry can be unloaded dust-free each day. But the plant produces also drinking water. For this drinking water, the reverse osmosis is followed by a disinfection treatment (ozone) and a second reverse osmosis unit. Then the water is bottled. The plant allows the harbour to run completely independently of the public supply system. A central control systems integrating all of the treatment stages has been designed by ProMinent.Pascale Peignen-SéralineInformation about Desalination on Prominent web site.Click here to join the editorial team of Hydroplus
