Works were undertaken according to the HEQ (High environmental quality) approach (as a HEQ label does not exist), similarly to works carried out by equipment manufacturer on the ultrafiltration plant of Sagep in St Cloud. Bringing plant to compliance comes with a €45.4m price tag, with plant capacity rising from 250,000 p.e. to 400,000 p.e. (i.e 110,000 m3/d in 2006), treated through the traditional biological means. Sludge will be dried then spread for one part, and incinerated. This project follows the collector diversion meant for grouping all the city’s wastewaters within one single plant inlet point. The last stage will be the construction of a 30,000 m3 storm basin. This new plant will be launched in September 2006 while the other city plant, the one of Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur was launched mid-December (cf. Hydroplus 137).
